Welcome

photo Vladimira Bukerova

Welcome everybody! This is an old school web, but I am keeping it up (although not updating it anymore) for those, who might still use it as a reference. So, there is some previously important information - such as the dates agreed for our class visits or any cancelled classes and the assessment dates, but also timeless things like a list of resources including some interesting links, some notes from the lectures as well, and a photo gallery. So, check out all the links and have fun!

New Deir el-Medina photos from Lenka

You might remember that I already advertised Flickr website of Lenka Peacock - who most of you met at our Deir el-Medina feast. I would like to attract your attention to some very interesting and useful additions to her site. Lenka continues in her photographic survey of everything that concerns Deir el-Medina and just added photographs of many artefacts from British Museum and Petrie's Museum (with permission from both). As she told me, she is happy to lend them for use in this website and any academic work (of course, they should be properly credited to the respective museum and, I think, the author as well). I used one of them - an example of Quenhirkopshef's handwriting - to illustrate Lecture 14.

If you want to see what I am talking about, please visit Lenka's Flickr site (Deir el-Medina section).
